We made it to South Padre Island with no issues. It was an easy 2-hour drive from Kingsville. Our home for the next 8 days is at the South Padre Island KOA.
We have a great little patio area next to our RV, palm trees and lots of sunshine. We love this tropical feel. Unfortunately, we had our slide issue and had to push the slide out manually. It was not easy. It weighs a ton! Between John and I, we pushed it out a few inches and called it good. Luckily, we really don't need to slide out to use the bedroom. We need the slide out to get to the drawers under the closets and there wasn't anything in the drawers that we really needed. We'll have to ask for reinforcements to push the slide back in, but that's for another day.
In the meantime, we walked around the KOA and enjoyed some quality time with the pups in their beautiful dog park next to the bay.
Later that evening, we had dinner at Pier 19 which is located in the park. We enjoyed great food, a couple of beers and a beautiful sunset. It was a great way to end the day.
